Hall Pass Bluegrass is a non-traditional bluegrass band based in Maine and determined to create an original sound for themselves. Chad Haynes (guitar/vocals), Jesse McWilliams (mandolin/vocals), and Dale Canning (bass/vocals) came together through an online songwriting circle and quickly solidified as a band over their love of bluegrass and desire to make their own music. The use of the word Bluegrass in their name despite their non-traditional path can be backed up by a quote from Bill Monroe himself, “I was determined to carve out a music of my own. I didn’t want to copy anybody.”
